About apple-sac
Having 20yrs in the rope access industry, and a background in Industrial Design, a passion for gear, and no sewing experience Apple-Sac evolved.
Eight years ago I bought myself a sewing machine and set out to make a pod bag that suited my needs exactly.
Through several unsightly prototypes, and refinements, frustrations with the capabilities of the Machine I had to use, the requirement for a more substantial machine was realised. Industrial gear doesn't come without industrial equipment!
After much trial and error I had a bag that I was satisfied with and called it the Inspector. I decided to email a photo of it to a friend. He promptly emailed it all around the world in rope access circles. The response was not what I expected, people were interested.
My mind then turned to other products applicable to the industry and the requests rolled in from people I was working with. I made several other bags and protection for different uses, then over the next few years refined the designs and narrowed it down. The comprehensive selection of products available on the Apple-Sac website today is a reflection of many tweaked refinements, accumulated over the years.
Over those years, the demand increased internationally, bigger orders and a growing family led me to the decision to expand. I was determined to continue with the high standards and quality of not only my final products but also all the materials and construction methods used. The standards had to be maintained while manufacturing them in much bigger numbers. The process to achieve this was slow and arduous. Eventually I found the best people for the job and am just as confident of the products as I was when I was sitting there into the early hours cutting and sewing them up myself. Quality assurance is key.
